He says, \u201cEveryone\u2019s skin is different and because there\u2019s no substantial research on beef tallow\u2019s effectiveness for acne, we can\u2019t provide a reliable timeline for improvement.&#8221;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Ultimately, both dermatologists agree that acne sufferers should approach this ingredient with caution. \u201cIt\u2019s always best to consult a dermatologist before trying new treatments, especially ones that are more unconventional,\u201d advises Dr. Green.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Esthetician and skin care expert Emme Diane also advises against using beef tallow for acne. \u201cEven though it has some <a href=\"https:\/\/www.newbeauty.com\/hypochlorous-acid-in-skin-care\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">antimicrobial properties<\/a>, the fact that it clogs pores outweighs any potential benefits. It may kill some bacteria, but acne starts when pores are blocked, so using beef tallow is counterproductive,\u201d she explains.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Can Beef Tallow Clog Pores?<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>According to Dr. Green, the answer is yes. \u201cWhile beef tallow can create a protective barrier on the skin, that same barrier can trap oils and bacteria, leading to clogged pores and worsening acne.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Diane agrees, highlighting that beef tallow\u2019s comedogenic nature makes it unsuitable for anyone who is even slightly prone to breakouts. \u201cWhen an ingredient is solid at room temperature but melts when heated, like beef tallow, it\u2019s likely to clog pores.
