In a candid interview with <em><a href=\"https:\/\/www.usmagazine.com\/celebrity-body\/news\/brooke-shields-reveals-doctor-did-intimate-surgery-without-her-consent\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Us Weekly<\/a>,<\/em> the 59-year-old actress revealed that a Beverly Hills-based <a href=\"https:\/\/www.newbeauty.com\/plastic-surgeon-requirements\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">plastic surgeon<\/a> performed an intimate procedure without her consent during a cosmetic surgery she underwent in her 40s.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Shields shared that she initially sought the surgery to address long-standing discomfort caused by her labia, which she said had led to bleeding, chafing and pain &#8220;since high school.&#8221; However, after the procedure, the plastic surgeon delivered an unsettling surprise: \u201cHe informed me that he threw in a little bonus,\u201d Shields explained, telling the outlet that he went ahead with a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.newbeauty.com\/guide-to-vaginal-rejuvenation\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">vaginal tightening procedure<\/a> as well without consent. \u201cIt felt like such an invasion\u2014such a bizarre, like, rape of some kind.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cNothing pointed toward this need to be tighter or smaller or firmer or younger, especially there,\u201d Shields added, telling the outlet that both she and her dermatologist were upset by the surgeon\u2019s decision to perform the \u201cirreversible\u201d procedure without her consent.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Shields said she was &#8220;dumbfounded&#8221; by the surgeon\u2019s casual demeanor. He &#8220;legitimately proudly explained to me that he, you know, threw in a little twofer,&#8221; she added.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In her memoir,  Shields acknowledges that some readers may find the details of her story \u201ctoo graphic or simply TMI, as some generations still call it.\u201d However, she stresses the importance of fostering open conversations about <a href=\"https:\/\/www.newbeauty.com\/biden-executive-order-womens-health\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">women\u2019s health<\/a>. \u201cI\u2019d be lying if I said I\u2019m not embarrassed to share this very intimate information,\u201d she wrote. \u201cBut, if we are to change the way we approach and talk about women\u2019s health, then we need to bring up the uncomfortable but very real issues.
